There are sections on both the EOG and Case21 assessments that allow students to use calculators. Students practiced using calculators today to help prepare them for these assessments. You can allow children to check work using a calculator at home.

Multiply or Divide?

When a word problem provides the number in a group & the amount in each group, and you are looking for how many in all (the total); you multiply.
When a word problem provides the total & the number of groups, and you are looking for the amount in each group; you divide.

iPads in the Classroom
